The construction of the multimillion OKM Library Complex and ICT Center has began at Moi Kapsowar Girls Girls Hig School in Elgeyo Marakwet. The foundation stone was laid by Hon. Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen, Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Roads. The project, which is fully funded through Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen Foundation and the national government, is expected to make Moi Kapsowar Girls High School a centre of academic excellence.
School libraries contain books, films, recorded sound, periodicals, realia, and digital media. These items are not only for the education, enjoyment, and entertainment of all members of the school community, but also to enhance and expand the school’s curriculum. School BOM Chairman Mr. Timothy Kilimo told ACTT Digital Media that the school had commenced the construction of the multimillion modern library and ICT centre to improve learning and teaching.
“We are determined to match other national schools across the country and become the best of the best. The investments are strategic to ensure the learners and teachers can get and give the best, respectively,” he said.
In her rejoinder, senior principal Joan Too who doubles up as the BOM secretary is up beat that Moi Girls Kapsowar is slowly but surely getting into the national limelight, a feat she attributed to the cohesive working environment made possible by the able leadership of BOM and other stakeholders.
