The construction of the multimillion OKM Library Complex
and ICT Center has began at Moi Kapsowar Girls Girls High
School in Elgeyo Marakwet. The foundation stone was laid
by Hon. Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen, Cabinet
Secretary in the Ministry of Roads. The project, which is
fully funded through Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen
Foundation and the national government, is expected to
make Moi Kapsowar Girls High School a centre of academic
excellence.
School libraries contain books, films, recorded sound,
periodicals, realia, and digital media. These items are not
only for the education, enjoyment, and entertainment of all
members of the school community, but also to enhance and
expand the school’s curriculum. School BOM Chairman Mr.
Timothy Kilimo told ACTT Digital Media that the school
had commenced the construction of the multimillion
modern library and ICT centre to improve learning and
teaching.

“We are determined to match other national schools
across the country and become the best of the best.
The investments are strategic to ensure the learners
and teachers can get and give the best, respectively,”
he said.
In her rejoinder, senior principal Joan Too who
doubles up as the BOM secretary is up beat that Moi
Girls Kapsowar is slowly but surely getting into the
national limelight, a feat she attributed to the
cohesive working environment made possible by the
able leadership of BOM and other stakeholders.
