One dicult aspect of becoming a
teacher is learning how to motivate
your students. It is also one of the
most important. Students who lack
motivation often have diculty
retaining information and struggle to
learn eectively. Such students
typically refrain from participating in
class discussions and activities, with
some possibly displaying disruptive
behavior. Various factors can
contribute to a student losing
motivation. For example, they may
not be interested in the subject, find
the teacher’s methods disengaging,
or might be dealing with external
distractions. A student who appears
unmotivated may actually have
diculty learning and need special
attention. While motivating students
can be a challenge, the rewards are
worth the eort. Motivated students
show a greater enthusiasm for
learning, frequently participating in
class. Some students are self-motivated,
with a natural love for learning.
But even with students who do
not have this drive, a great teacher
can make learning fun and inspire
them to reach their full potential.

The decision to airlift top performing
students is one of the best ways
a number of principals have opted
for as it leaves a remarkable
memory in the students. Senior
Principal of Moi Kapsowar High
School Joan Too deemed it fit to
treat her performing students to a
remarkable motivational trip to
Nairobi city as five students from
the institution were on 24th July
2023 treated with a special gift of a
flight from Moi international
Airport Eldoret to JKIA and back
by the school board Chairman Mr
Timothy Kilimo.
The top three form four, most
improved and the best in form three
class from the then recent examination,
boarded a morning flight to
Nairobi via Jambo Jet and landed
back in Eldoret later in the evening
on the same day.
The students in the company of the
form principal Lawrence Omondi
and class teacher Mercy Kipchumba
were received well at the JKIA. They
visited various places in the capital
among them the Supreme Court of
Kenya , Oce of the Cabinet secretary
Roads and Infrastructure and
the Central Bank of Kenya.

They aso visited Barabara Plaza where they interacted
with women engineers in this country. Meeting
women lawyers was the epitome of their tour as they
interacted with learned friends per excellence.
The school principal upon seeing them o’ at the
airport encouraged them to continue working harder
and smarter in their academics as it is what is expected
of them by the school community and their families
back home.
The school Patron Gladys Murkomen , Kapseret
Lawmaker Oscar Sudi, CS Roads and Infrastructure
hosted Moi Kapsowar Girls champions for lunch at the
Carnivore Simba Saloon Restaurant.
As this was happening, the 2023 candidates class 4C
(leading) were visiting Moi University School of Law
(Annex), Moi University School of Medicine and Moi
Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) courtesy of
the school board chair Mr. Timothy Kilimo to get
motivated and work to be part of the said institutions
come 2024 September.
